She's a 200 E-RYT, has a degree in psychology and is a self-proclaimed opportunity junkie.

Samuel Eisen-Meyers – Samuel is a gentle and fiercely intuitive full time musician and visual artist born and raised in Portland, OR. With his main roots in blues, pop, and vocal based soul music, he has developed a fond appreciation for the expansiveness and colors of instrumental music. While frequenting the west coast festival and club circuit with bands out of Portland, Seattle and Bellingham, he wrote and recorded three albums between 2009-2014. What Up New Year! w Musical guest Sivan Lioncub

This Showga falls at the very beginning of the new year. We'll use this as an opportunity for an extra big reset and we'll set some big intentions! The times are incredibly intense right now and that is not going to change! Let's fill up with a fresh dose of inspiration, pull out our toolkits for calm and confidence, and align with the times.

We are thrilled to bring back Sivan Lioncub, front woman of Everyone is Dirty, as our musical guest for this month. Everyone Is Dirty is a fierce & freaky female fronted rock & roll juggernaut out of Oakland. Onstage, striking lead singer Sivan Lioncub is an electric violin warrior. She shreds. And like a one two punch, when she sings, she is a poet & a punk, managing to make sensuality & rage flow together like kissing cousins.

Reset and Reconnect w/ musical guest El Elle

The theme for this month's SHOWGA is "Reset and Reconnect". We can decide to reset and reconnect to ourselves and what's truly important to us in any moment. We'll work with breath, movement and the 5 senses as tools for this reconnection, and as reminders of the wonder of being alive.

Our musical guest for this month's SHOWGA is El Elle. Lisa Light is an Oakland, CA based musician, songwriter, dancer, and recording artist. Soon after earning her degree in biology at Stanford University, Light found her true calling as a musician. She dropped out of SF State while pursuing a 2nd degree in classical violin performance in order to go on tour and record with her first band. THE LOVEMAKERS enjoyed an international following and released four studio albums, including critically acclaimed "Times of Romance" on Interscope Records. She has lent talent to many other musician's records as well such as Blondie and Denmark's Dreampop darlings, Sleep Party People.

Ms. Light released EL ELLE, her first solo LP in 2011, and has continued to collaboratively perform under El Elle moniker with rotating musicians and dancers. Light also performs as Material Girl, a Madonna Tribute Band, and founded Dreampop band Garlands, who released their LP in 2013. When she is not making music, she is dancing to it, or writing about it at Pandora Media as part of the music analysis team. Light is also a yoga teacher and a dancefloor addict.

Clearing Space for New Dreams w/ music from Cave Clove

The theme for this month's SHOWGA is "Clearing Space for New Dreams." We'll work with the energy of the fall season to shed what's no longer serving us in order to free up space to dream new dreams, clarify existing dreams, and dream bigger.

This month's musical guest is Cave Clove. Katie Colver of Cave Clove is total party animal, and she is also a serious student of shamanism. Her music finds a perfect expression of this anomaly, pulled in one direction towards her passion for life yet constantly faced with the darkness that is all too familiar to someone who feels so deeply. The band's musical inspirations are no less complicated, embracing elements of Laurel Canyon rock alongside nineties grunge and r&b. Cave Clove invites you to navigate the space between on their latest self-titled LP recorded at Tiny Telephone studios with co-producers Courtney Fairchild and Beau Sorenson (Death Cab for Cutie / Bob Mould / Thao & the Get Down Stay Down).

Showga Presents: Fire Flow w/ Musical Guest SAKI & the Factor (Japan)

We are pleased to announce Japanese duo SAKI & the factor as our musical guests for this SHOWGA.

Since its foundation in September of 2013, SAKi & the factor has been prolific: releasing three albums, providing sound tracks for promotional videos and DVDs, playing live throughout Japan in venues of all sizes, and performing at music festivals such as the world-famous FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL. The music of SAKi & the factor reminds us of the sun and the moon. It can be passionate and powerful, or soothing and tender. Their music is infused with a wide range of styles such as rock, reggae, R&B, pop, electronic, and experimental. SAKi’s angelic yet soulful voice is accompanied by a wide variety of sounds from Jody Tenku who masterfully utilizes acoustic and electric guitars with multiple effectors and looper. Together, they invoke the listener’s imagination with sonic universe that depicts the world’s beauty while occasionally shedding light on humanity’s cruelty and sadness.

This SHOWGA will be a "fire flow." We'll work with heat. We'll gently build heat, we'll physically and energetically cleanse, we'll practice moving and breathing though the fire, and trusting in it's impermanence.

Noise Pop Block Party Showga Featuring Live Music by Golden Gram

We're thrilled to announce that Showga will be participating in Noise Pop's 6th annual 20th Street Block Party!

Come hang out with us as we celebrate longer days, warmer nights in the beloved Mission District in San Francisco. Bring your friends, families, and neighbors while we promise to deliver the perfect pairing of food, drinks, love, and music! Did we mention it's free?

As in previous years, the beloved Bay Area block party-style event is free to attend and will again benefit its 19th Street neighbors — the Mission Language and Vocational School (MLVS), a nonprofit organization that has been a Mission staple for nearly 50 years.

In true 20th Street Block Party fashion, the music will bring some of the best acts from the Bay Area and beyond to the heart of San Francisco’s historic Mission District. Last year’s Block Party experienced its most successful event to-date with more than 22,000 guests in attendance and featured Neon Indian, Kilo Kish, Hoops, Sugar Candy Mountain, and The Tambo Rays, among others. Other notable past performers have included Mac Demarco, Chicano Batman, Miami Horror, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down, Two Gallants, Nick Waterhouse, Andrew St. James, and more. Stay tuned as the 2018 full music lineup will be announced later this summer.

We're stoked to have Golden Gram (aka Graham LeBron) as our musical guest for this Showga. Graham is an American musician, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and film composer from Oakland, CA.

Putting his music degree from Rice University to work, since 2010, he has composed music for film, commercials and online spots, among his clients are Square, Levi's, Asana, NearFuture and Ikea. He is represented by Portland music agency, Marmoset.

Showga presents: Staying cool, calm, and content! w/ Musical guest Joshua McClain

The theme for this event is "Staying Cool, Calm, and Content." It's summer! It's hot, it's busy, it's festive. It's easy to spin out, it's easy to become depleted. In this class we'll slow down, collect ourselves, fill our bodies with breath, and reconnect to the wonder of being alive!

We are pleased to announce Joshua McClain as our musical guest for this Showga! Joshua McClain is a cellist and composer based in Oakland, CA. He is best known for his unbridled and mesmerizing solo cello performances which, using a looping pedal and effects processor, create intense, otherworldly soundscapes. His live show is astonishing, passionate, and simply transformative.

Regarded as one of the top artists in the Bay Area, Joshua was voted Musician of the Year in San Francisco at the Raw Artist RAWAwards showcase in 2013. He has shared the stage with Thievery Corporation, Aj Croce, Over the Rhine, Blame Sally, Gordi, Dagmar, and others. Joshua's soundscapes are in the same vein as great filmic soundtracks - his playing is in the style of Sigur Ros, Zoe Keating, Andrew Bird, Mogwai, Kronos Quartet, and Dirty Three to name a few. Joshua has toured and performed extensively in North America as well as Germany, France, Japan, West Africa, and Argentina.

Grounding & Visualizing Success: Yoga with Musical Guest Ash Reiter

Join us in the beautiful historic ballroom at Starline Social Club for July SHOWGA!

SHOWGA is an event series focused on empowerment through the senses, incorporating yoga, live music, lights, aromatherapy, and visualization. SHOWGA draws from the systems of yoga, western psychology, and performance arts. Participants learn to work with each sense as a tool for wellness, stress reduction, increased performance, and creative flow.

The theme for this event is Grounding and Visualizing Success. We must establish a strong, secure foundation in our bodies, in our true natures, and in our environments, in order to have the strength and confidence to dream bigger, take risks, and continue to move up to the next levels of what we consider success in our lives.

We are pleased to announce Ash Reiter as our musical guest for this Showga! Ash Reiter fronts psych band Sugar Candy Mountain. If Brian Wilson had dropped acid on the beach in Brazil and decided to record an album with Os Mutantes and The Flaming Lips, it would sound like this.

We are pleased to announce LakeCube as the musical guest for this Showga event! LakeCube is the musical alias of bassist/producer Luke Bace. In the aftermath of that group’s disbandment Luke decided to acquire the “means of production”… in other words, he spent all his money and time learning how to record and produce music, something he hadn’t done since he took a high school electronic music course. Three years later LakeCube has hit his stride and is set for a steady stream of releases throughout 2018, culminating in a full length. Besides working on his own music, Luke produces and plays with Firemaid and plays bass and effects in recording sessions and with a number of Bay Area groups.

Each SHOWGA experience is focused around a theme, which is explored via the 5 senses. SHOWGA always features a live music performance from a range of genres, musicians and bands. The theme for February's Oakland Showga is "Exploring Boundaries and Edges". We will learn some techniques for energetic protection and tidiness, and we will exolore the power of working right on the edge of discomfort. We must challenge ourselves in order for growth to take place, but it's also important to know our limits and not push ourselves to the point of forcing.

We are thrilled to announce musial guest Opaque Couché for this event. Opaque Couché is the current electronic solo project of Lumerians co-founder, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Jason Miller. Inspired by the rhythms of wind, rain, the commonalities between disparate ceremonial rituals, pulses of existential consternation, and gas station food.

Kendra McKinley perceives a song like a painter views a blank canvas: an opportunity to expand an audience’s mind, to wash their thoughts in brilliant hues of blue and violet, scarlet reds and effusive orange. Inspired by the past but not chained to it, McKinley’s music spans the diverse spectrum of pop music. She echoes the intricate vocal arrangements crafted by Brian Wilson, fractures the narrow definitions of a genre like St. Vincent, and recognizes storytelling as the key aspect of a great tune the way the best singer-songwriters have for generations.
