The theme for this month's Oakland Showga is "Balancing Doing and Being". We will explore the importance of rest, assimilation, and integration in the midst of our busy, action-packed lives. We will also focus on action and movement as tools for growth in times of stagnance.
We are pleased to announce LakeCube as the musical guest for this Showga event! LakeCube is the musical alias of bassist/producer Luke Bace. Born, raised, and schooled on the east coast, Luke now resides in Berkeley, California where he swims in the infinite potential of music making on a daily basis. Luke has played in many bands you haven’t heard of over the years, most notably Big Tree, with which he spent seven years playing bass. In the aftermath of that group’s disbandment Luke decided to acquire the “means of production”… in other words, he spent all his money and time learning how to record and produce music, something he hadn’t done since he took a high school electronic music course. Three years later LakeCube has hit his stride and is set for a steady stream of releases throughout 2018, culminating in a full length. Besides working on his own music, Luke produces and plays with Firemaid and plays bass and effects in recording sessions and with a number of Bay Area groups.
