BLEIE

BLEIE is the musical project of Sarah Christine Bly, based in Richmond, CA. An avid yogini, wilderness therapist and teacher, her contemplative practice is rooted in the lineage of Chogyam Trungpa's crazy wisdom. Themes of tension and release and a surrender to instinct coexist dynamically in a reverent field of sound. BLEIE is not interested in comfort or familiarity, but rather stretching the boundaries of expectation and awareness into more difficult and rewarding mental and physical terrain. Come ready to shed your self-consciousness and reach deeper into the energies which drive your practice through divine play without censor.

Logan Kelley

Logan hails from the southwest deserts where he first began exploring the deep traditions of American primitive fingerstyle guitar.  Oscillating between quick rhythms and slow contemplations, Logan explores the variety of human emotions through the belief that melody can be a uniquely expressive form of communication.  While he might appear to be an acoustic purist, Logan has played in a variety of punk, pop, noise, and folk bands using an electric setup, and continues to grow his rock roots in Oakland.  Logan has equal respect for technique and tenacity, and is an advocate for exercising greater patience in the consumption of music.

Josh McClain

6:30 PM18:30

Josh McClain

Joshua McClain wields his cello like a post -impressionist's brush, transcending his training to produce a warm, wild sound whose unbridled expressiveness derives largely from a willingness to leave the edges frayed. Such is the basis for an eclectic, infinitely intriguing sound filled out with loose, lazy rhythms and rootsy strumming.  Joshua loops his sound live on stage to create multi-layered soundscapes—exploring rock, blues, and electronic styles. While classically trained, McClain has evolved his style into an unbridled, mesmerizing sound experience—all his own. A multi-talented musician and singer/songwriter, McClain also plays the guitar, baritone ukelele and other instruments, and often works them into his sets and songs.
